Notes
I want to learn more and more to see as beautiful what is necessary in things; then I shall be one of those who makes things beautiful. Amor fati: let that be my love henceforth! I do not want to wage war against what is ugly. I do not want to accuse; I do not even want to accuse those who accuse. Looking away shall be my only negation. And all in all and on the whole: some day I wish to be only a Yes-sayer. - Nietzsche’s The Gay Science
This piece was created for the AIM2025 (Art Inspired Music) contest on Newgrounds. The idea was to create a music track from an image we liked. I chose that one:

What really stroke me when stumbling on Miloecute’s art was the vibe of the scene she had managed to set up. The luminous night sky, the wind, the plains, the wide horizon — every is set up in way that I couldn’t help but admire. This vibe drove the instrumental part of the song which uses acoustic instruments extensively (piano, acoustic guitar, violin, marimba).
And perhaps more importantly, I wondered what the girl was thinking. What was she looking at? That part inspired the lyrics of the song. I figured being in the middle of such a wonderful scenery would make you realise how beautiful the world is and how important it is to preserve its beauty. And by beauty, I mean both the literal physical beauty, and the people-had-to-die-for-this-place-to-exist kind of beauty.
Anyways, it was fun working on this.
For posterity, here’s what the project looked like by the end. I don’t usually have that for my pieces but I had a screenshot lying around for this one so here it is x)

After the contest was done, I tried to get Bajiru to sing it, and she did actually start practicing it live:
Which was fun. But in the end she fell pretty sick and lacked the time to finish after that. I’m a sad but I’m sure we’ll have other occasion to work together! All the best to you, Bajiru, if you read that.
